January Updates

As we ring in the New Year of 2011, there will be a few changes to the game line ups. Out with the old, in with the new, and a couple of changes to existing games!

First, we'll start with the departing. Leaving in 2011 is the long running BingoNet League. There are a number of reasons that this one is saying farewell. Primarily, by the end of the fiscal year, there is always one team that never has as many players as the other teams, due to lack of sign ups, so when someone leaves, it makes the teams off-balance.

So, what do we do with the gift cards that used to go to League players? Why, we re-distribute them! So lets bring out the one that is changing. Starting in January 2011, Team Bingo will be played 3 times per week, Monday evenings, and the regular Thursday and Saturday afternoons (see the calendar for more details). Teams will now have gift cards attached. For all the details on how Team Bingo is changing, click here.

Also changing as of January 1st, Survivor will be played once per month. Where possible, we will attempt to tie this into a long weekend. Taking the place of the 2nd Survivor tournament will be a new game called Reach for the Top. Primarily for those players who love to compete with one another, Reach for the Top will be similar to a month long Survivor (and sort of like league as well). In Reach for the Top, the top 50 players for the month based on points accumulated will be ranked (the page will be updated once a week so everyone knows what the standings are. At the end of the month, the top 10 players will receive a $5 gift card, next 40 players will receive bonus points starting at 40,000 and working down to 1000.

New additions in the tournament line up in January are coming as well. Reindeer games proved to be a very popular game in December, so we will be repeating it in January with "Chasing Snowflakes". Same rules apply as with Reindeer Games, you must keep track of the eliminated numbers for the entire month.

Also coming is a new game called "Top Gun". Top Gun will be a "Nabors" game, where the top scoring individual for the event, along with their nabors, will receive $5 gift cards.
